I Heart Money
I love money. I’ve spent most of my life trying to make it. I’d take more tomorrow if it was offered. Money holds unequivocal value. This is not an article meant to convince anyone we should eschew money and embrace hugs and daisies instead; I am not that girl.
This article reflects my ponderings around if there’s such a thing as a “money frequency” and if so, is it something we want to prioritize curating compared to other vibrational frequencies? It’s meant as a companion piece to my first article on money and vibrational frequency.
I used to puzzle how some people who seemed to be (quite frankly) jerks, could end up amassing so much money? Don’t good things come to good people and those who wait? We all know the old adages.
It dawned on me there may be what we’ll call a singular money frequency we can align with, and separately an abundance frequency.
There may be those who live a life flush with cash, and those who have cultivated an abundantly vibrating life. There are people who have done both. There’s a subtle difference between all three.
We perceive many people as having tons of monetary success or privilege in life- but are they actually wealthy or abundant? I was riding across Boracay Island in the Philippines on the back of a motorcycle one night in residential neighborhoods. So many families were out on porches with boom boxes and radios dancing and laughing under a heavy moon.
I stared at one family lounging on plastic chairs and dancing on a blue deck above me. I wondered, “Are they wealthy or am I wealthy?” I realized any answers would be relative based on what someone answering values, and even which elements of the present moment they focused on.
Someone valuing laughter, connection and ease would definitely not look at a snapshot of my life at the time and call me wealthy over these dancing, happy people. Someone valuing achievement and money would.
If someone focused more on the property in the scene compared to the people, they would come up with completely different evaluations altogether. No two abundance mindsets are alike; each mindset will cultivate a different vibrational frequency of abundance based on values.
Money is One of Many Currencies
Too often I suspect we fall in to this trap of idealizing alignment with a money frequency because we look at the world as if there’s only one currency- the literal one.
As Daniel Sachau discusses in his popular TedTalk on money, research studies show money can buy happiness- if it gives us the ability not to worry.
After that, our unrealistic expectations of the happiness money will bring often lead us to sacrificing elements that make us happy (think rich relationships and time freedom) to make more of something we think will make us happy.
I don’t need to tell you the math doesn’t always work out in our favor.
I’m starting to suspect curating a prolific abundance frequency may be worth something, versus the somewhat confining idea of tuning ourselves to a singular money frequency. Like growing a garden compared to a crop of carrots. Especially if we turn around and use money to buy what makes us feel abundant.
I’m attempting to shift around my life and align it with multiple currencies I want to receive. I have blue sky and fresh air on my list.
After living for years in the PNW where we have been getting progressively smoked out by summer wildfires, I realized fresh air and blue sky have a massive impact on my vibration, and I cannot buy them.
What qualifies something as a separate currency from money? Blue sky is a standalone currency because it has significant barriers to purchase. The only way I can think of trying is a (dramatic) plane ticket to Switzerland.
Thus, in cultivating the garden of my abundance mindset I have crop space reserved for payment in fresh air. I’d be willing to take a bit less literal currency to live somewhere with fresh air and blue sky- because they pay me well.
They make my life abundant in a way aligning with the vibration of money cannot.
Same for inspiring spaces. I’m pondering how to set my life up so I’m receiving part of my paycheck in weekly exposure to inspiring spaces with ease. I would take less money for a job in an inspiring space than more money for one where I’m shoved left center in a cubicle jungle next to someone who makes really bad jokes on phone calls.
Does being in an unsuitable environment every day feel abundant even with a ton of money? What’s the impact on our vibrational frequency? I’ll take the inspiration and elevated daily frequency up front please!
Feels a bit easier than working in a space I don’t like, then flying to Mexico to beach it up and balance a life that isn’t really working for me.
This shift of focus from a singular money frequency to an expanded abundance frequency considers what we dream of, and cultivating a mindset that values receiving it up front as payment.
What would life look like if we put thought in to all the currencies we were willing to receive? Instead of this two step process that can sometimes work better in theory than reality.
For example, having money for vacation but being too time poor to take one.
How do we maximize for multiple revenue streams at the same time? Instead of fantasizing we’ll optimize for just one and buy the others later.
Considering additional currencies we’re willing to accept also broadens our options because we aren’t stuck in a singular focus of finding say, a job that pays the most money. Lateral thinking like this helps us unlock ways to become a higher vibration person.
Is Money Even High Vibration?
Looking at the graphic above what feelings come to mind? I offer it so you can feel how we often conflate money and abundance, but they are actually very different vibrations.
When we just try to align with a literal money frequency this narrowing can constrict us. Cultivating an abundance mindset involves a little more broadening of scope, and consideration of multiple ways to meet our needs. The thinking in itself is a more expansive practice.
When we feel constriction mentally or physically this is typically reflected in our vibrational frequency.
When I was going hard after making money my body reflected this back to me by becoming constricted AF.
Narrowing in to goals can be epic and a driving force for some time; I imagine we all just have different burnout points. It’s knowing when to drive after it, and when we need to soften our edges a bit.
As I illustrated in my last article on vibrational frequency charts- high vibration is all about avoiding diminishing returns. This often means changing our focus from time to time to avoid frequency constriction.
I was having a discussion with another reader around if attempts to manifest money are consciously choosing to pull an element with a low vibration in to our lives.
I’ll pause and let that sit for a sec.
What does our society’s singular focus on money exclude from being used as currency? Who controls money and benefits from it the most when you really think about it?
I’ll drop this reader’s comment below, and let you chew on this yourself. I fall in to a rabbit hole of pondering what subs in for money. A puzzle I expand on in the next section.
“If frequency ranges from high to low it starts with energy, then manifests to spirit, then the physical which is the lowest. Money, which is a man made object, and its value is man designated, is a low frequency object. So if you’re trying to manifest it into your life you’re literally manifesting low vibrational frequency into your life by choice.” ~Joseph Dillon
Pay With Gratitude
I’ve been pondering what it would be like to hold “pay with gratitude” sessions. I spent some time in my career consulting for a company with a location in the Philippines, so I’ve been blessed with spending a decent chunk of time there.
I was blown away by the ferocity with which so much of the younger generation yearns to learn and advance themselves. Especially those in their 20s and 30s.
It bothered me people like those I sang and ate roast pig with in Cebu, wouldn’t be able to afford sessions if I offered them. Even if I did sessions at their price point, how would I afford to use their currency with what things cost in my country?
I started thinking about gratitude. I believe the feelings generated in the world by our actions affect our frequency. A small group of people sitting and feeling gratitude/sending prayers/peaceful feelings etc. toward me for 30 minutes is pretty powerful frequency amplification.
It’s also a bit of standalone currency because it would be tricky to purchase anything close to as juicy as the real thing.
Admittedly, I’m an idealist. There are a myriad of reasons this plan doesn’t play out in real life. However, the idea of accepting vibrational frequency amplification as currency has been an inquisitive mental state to enter; it flips around all my ideas about money.
Asking myself, “How much time spent sending gratitude my way is too much to ask for in exchange for my services?” feels expansive to ponder.
Plus, if we had a camera of the future, the person sending gratitude is likely glowing in frequency enhancement as they generate gratitude to send. It’s a huge win/win if done with integrity.
It’s also a way to engage with readers who are time wealthy, and those who are money wealthy. The connection created between people that I trust them, and feel their gratitude is worth something creates meaningful connection.
It’s fascinating how changing the “currency” we exchange affects so many other vibrational timeline variables. Who we speak with, cultures we interact with, different perspectives we’ll get etc.
I posit there’s even a secondary frequency amplification happening from trusting people I’m working with to honor their word. There’s a lot of talk about gratitude raising vibration, but trust, when judiciously applied, has a decent vibrational frequency impact.
It’s certainly not to say I’d do all sessions as pay with gratitude. That’s too idealistic even for me, but I’d be interested to play around with a small percentage. Stretching myself to consider what else I’d like to make space for in that abundance mindset garden of mine.
I invite you to consider setting aside the importance of alignment with the vibration of money as a way to improve your life for a moment, and consider what additional currencies you might play with earning. I never thought blue sky would be one of mine.
